Your Tasks

  • Expression and purification of recombinant proteins in E. coli and mammalian cells employing Äkta, HPLCs and other purification instruments, and using multiple purification strategies (IEX, Heparin, Tag-based affinity chromatography, etc).
  • Develop and perform enzymatic and substrate binding assays (incl. determination of enzyme activity and kinetics) independently or with other team members, as appropriate.
  • Screen small molecule ligands on purified protein in microplate-based assay formats to drive SAR relationships using manual and automated systems.
  • Support the biophysical characterization of small molecule interactions with target proteins.
  • Organize, report and present to the team experimental results on a regular basis; maintain clear experimental records using ELN.

Your Qualifikations

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or apprenticeship in biochemistry, enzymology, pharmacology, or related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in biotech or pharmaceutical companies
  • Experience in biochemical assays, enzyme kinetics and substrate binding assays. You have hands-on experience in developing and running 96/384-well microplate-based biochemical and kinetic-based assay technologies (e.g., DSF/TSA, fluorescence-based assays, luminescence)
  • Extensive experience in recombinant protein expression and purification
  • Previous experience in biophysical assay techniques such as ITC, SPR, GCI, Switch sense, TSA, BLI or related techniques
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask with emphasis on accuracy. You are a strong team player with a positive personality and very good communication skills, fluent in English.
